Introduction

Amidst the honourable scholars of this Ummah, who are bastions of guidance and upholders of the Truth are two radiant stars, Imam Hassan ibn Hassan ibn ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib and his son, ‘Abdullah—may Allah shower his mercy upon them—whose noble status is attested to by the pages of history. They also happen to be from the venerable scholars of the Ahlul Bayt, who we have been instructed to love and to be mindful of their rights [making studying their lives all the more beneficial].
In this brief treatise we have sought to shed light on their lives and scholarly prowess, as well as their social and political exploits. We concluded the discussion by addressing a few misconceptions that are commonly held—unfortunate as it may be—about these two personalities and providing a fitting response to them.
