بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم الحمد لله رب العالمين والصلاة والسلام على رسوله محمد وعلى آله وأصحابه ومن تبعه بإحسان إلى يوم الدين

Introduction

I begin in the name of Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala, the Excessively Compassionate, the Exceedingly Merciful. All praise belongs to Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala, Who has given superiority to some individuals over others. Salutations, peace, and blessings be upon Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, his beloved family, his illustrious Companions, and those who follow them until the Day of Resurrection.

The Banu Hashim have the noblest lineage that traces back to Sayyidina Ismail ‘alayh al Salam and Sayyidina Ibrahim ‘alayh al Salam. From this pure ancestry, Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala selected His beloved salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.

The Banu Hashim and the Banu al Muttalib, those of them who embraced Islam, coupled with the wives of Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam are referred to as the Ahlul Bayt (Household of Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). Members of the Ahlul Bayt who lived in the era of Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam have the unique prestige of being from the Sahabah and Ahlul Bayt radiya Llahu ‘anhum.

Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala blessed Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam with seven children. His wife Sayyidah Khadijah radiya Llahu ‘anha mothered two sons—Qasim and ‘Abdullah—and four daughters—Zainab, Ruqayyah, Umm Kulthum, and Fatimah—while his concubine, Sayyidah Mariyah Qibtiyyah radiya Llahu ‘anha, mothered a son Ibrahim radiya Llahu ‘anhum. The sons of Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam passed away in infancy whereas all the daughters of Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam embraced Islam, pledged allegiance to Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and made hijrah.

While all the children of Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam are virtuous, Sayyidah Fatimah radiya Llahu ‘anha enjoys the greatest virtue. The biography of Sayyidah Fatimah radiya Llahu ‘anha is penned in this book from authentic hadith and biographical collections of the Ahlus Sunnah wa al Jama’ah.

May Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala grant us true love and honour for Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, Sayyidah Fatimah radiya Llahu ‘anha in particular, and the Ahlul Bayt and Sahabah radiya Llahu ‘anhum in general.
