A Debt Owed
April 16, 2026Introduction
April 21, 2026The Ahlul Bayt—the noble Household of the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam occupy a rank of honour and reverence in the creed of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah. Loving them, upholding their dignity, and safeguarding their rights is affirmed by the Prophet’s emphatic counsel, “I remind you concerning [the rights of] my family.” True to this Prophetic legacy, we distance ourselves both from those who show excess by elevating certain members only while neglecting others, and from those who harbour enmity or ill-will toward them.
It is impermissible to disparage, diminish, or harm them in any form—whether they be among the Prophet’s blessed progeny or his noble wives, the Mothers of the Believers.
It is with this spirit that Mabarrat al-Āl wa al-Aṣḥāb presents this distinguished work, which seeks to deepen reverence, rekindle love in the hearts of believers, and dispel lingering misconceptions with clarity and balance.
While these pages illuminate the elevated rank and unique virtues of the Prophet’s salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam wives as the Ummahāt al-Mu’minīn, as affirmed in the Qur’an and Sunnah, they also highlight the revealed texts that include them among the Ahlul Bayt—thereby underscoring a distinction of honour that is both profound and often overlooked.
