Introduction

Certainly, all praise belongs to Allah. We praise Him, seek His help, seek His forgiveness, and seek His protection from the evil of ourselves and our evil actions. Whoever Allah guides can never be misguided and whoever He misguides can never find guidance. I testify that there is no deity besides Allah—He is one and has no partner—and I testify that Muhammad is His bondsman and Messenger.

ﭤ ﭥ ﭦ ﭧ ﭨ ﭩ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ ﭮ ﭯ

O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].[1]

ﭑ ﭒ ﭓ ﭔ ﭕﭖ ﭗ ﭘ ﭙ ﭚ ﭛ ﭜ ﭝ ﭞ ﭟ ﭠ ﭡ ﭣ ﭤ ﭥ ﭦ ﭧ ﭨ ﭪ ﭫ ﭬ ﭭ ﭮ

O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs.  Indeed, Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.[2]

ﮥ ﮦ ﮧ ﮨ ﮩ ﮪ ﮫ ﮬ ﮮ ﮯ ﮰ ﮱ ﯓ ﯔ ﯖ ﯗ ﯘ ﯙ ﯚ ﯛ ﯜ ﯝ

O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.[3]

After praise and salutations, for over twenty years, I have been studying the activities and plans of the Shia in the Islamic world. I have been studying their books, articles, magazines, and the machinations and fabrications they contain against the men of the best era. I have been studying the means and methods they adopt to spread their call in the areas populated by the Ahlus Sunnah. I have been gathering numbers and statistics on the amount of tribes and individuals who have embraced Shi’ism during a period of time in Iran, the Gulf, Iraq, and Lebanon. I have been studying their radical sects and how they were able to mount a large number of groups and assume authority in some Arab countries.

I was—and continue—to be consumed from the pain of the weakness of the Ahlus Sunnah and their negligence towards the schemes of the Shia against them. I quote the poet’s couplet:

وأخشى أن يكون لها ضرام

أرى خلل الرماد وميض جمر

وإن الحرب مبدؤها كلام

فإن النار بالعودين تذكى

I see between the ashes, the glow of live ember;

I fear that it will break into a blaze,

For verily, fire is kindled on timber;

As is war, initiated with words of phrase.

When I communicate my agony and anxiety to my active brothers in da’wah, they disapprove of what I tell them, although they are leaders of some groups among them. I hear them telling me, “In your interest, you provide great services to nationalists. We are in a valley and you are in a different valley. We complain about the communists, crusaders, capitalists, nationalists, and secular dangers while you speak about movements and doctrines that time has consumed.”

Yes, by Allah. I am in a valley while they are in a totally different valley. I have been noticing for many years the black flags flying in the East and their bearers trying to swallow the Islamic world. Owing to this, I wrote some of the sections of this book more than three years before the Iranian Revolution.

What distressed me above all was the partisan organization of the Shia and how the first of their scholarly sessions in the Hussainiyyat (Shia congregation halls) and Hawzahs (Shia religious seminaries) criticise the fundamentals of the Ahlus Sunnah and disparage their main books. You will see an adolescent lad engaging with the sons of the Ahlus Sunnah like an imp, narrating to him an academic matter and convincing him of the flaws it contains—as assumed by the Shia—and after convincing him, he brings Sahih al Bukhari to him and tells him, “Have a look at how this matter appears in Sahih al Bukhari in a hadith reported by ‘Aishah or Abu Hurairah.” Our brother does not know the fundamentals of his Din and has absolutely no affiliation to Sahih al Bukhari or Sahih Muslim, and is completely unaware of the lies, distortions, and falsities of the Shia.

On the other hand, those considered knowledgeable among the Ahlus Sunnah will say, “Our disagreement with the Shia is only historical, which does not affect the fundamentals of Islam. The gist of the matter is that our Shia brethren [only] believe that ‘Ali is superior to Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and ‘Uthman.” Those who utter this have absolutely no knowledge of Shia beliefs and are completely unacquainted with their main books.

Then came the Khomeini Revolution—in which US President Carter participated in its design, and his general Huyser contributed to its implementation when he succeeded in neutralizing the army—this Revolution came and many Muslims were seduced by it, and they thought that it would bring back the era of the Rightly Guided Khalifas, as well as heroes like Khalid and Salah al Din.

Islamic magazines went overboard in inflating Khomeini’s personality and Revolution. In one such magazine, the reader is unable to differentiate between a Sunni and Shia in the writing of the magazine. This magazine flung its door wide open and spread exactly what the Shia wanted. How many poems invited to kiss the earth of Qom, Najaf, and Karbala’; and how many journeys were taken to these places to circumambulate them and bow and prostrate to them?

Majority of the Islamic groups competed to support the Iranian Revolution. These groups, which are affiliated to the Ahlus Sunnah, are usually at loggerheads and extremely belligerent, it is extremely difficult to unite them. Despite this, they were all unanimous on the necessity of supporting the Iranian Revolution and aiding the Islamic hero, Khomeini, as they claimed.

One of those who are known for Islamic activities and a leader of those prominent in this, visited Khomeini and then returned to his country delivering lectures on the glorious deeds of the leader of the Revolution, his asceticism, his humility, and the fact that he sat in his home on a straw-mat eating olives and eggs with him. From eggs and olives, our friend provided his inspirations and inclinations, yet completely unaware of the beliefs, books, and plans of Khomeini.

How easy is the mission of the one-eyed Dajjal in the midst of these people? The magazines etc., have misguided the minds of the people and shook their ideas. A person is flabbergasted when he becomes aware of the superficiality and negligence of the du’at (callers). Then he becomes aware of the schemes of the Shia and their statements on introducing the revolution and a full-scale operation to attack the Gulf, Iraq, and Syria, to revive the memories of the Fatimids and Qaramitah.

The Shia are plotting conspiracies against the Muslims and majority of the sons of the Ahlus Sunnah applaud them. Ahmed Shawqi describes such persons:

أثر البهتان فيه وانطلى الزور عليه

ملأ الجو صراخا بحياة قاتليه

يا له من ببغاء عقله في أذنيه

The effect of slander was upon him and falsehood deceived him.

He filled the air with cries about the lives of his killers.

Sad is the parrot whose mind is in his ears.

In order to reveal the reality and disclose the secrets of their falsehood, I began authoring this book, which I have divided into three chapters.

Chapter 1: The history of the Batiniyyah Shia. I clarified that their call is exactly the same as the Majus (Magians) and I discussed those adhering to this call and their schemes against Islam and the Muslims, how they befriended Allah’s enemies and supported every disbeliever against Islam and the Muslims.

Chapter 2: I discussed their deviant beliefs and the testimony of esteemed scholars of Islam about them, past and present. I unveiled the Shia with whom we live as contemporaries, revealing that they are far more wicked than the Shia of before.

I dedicated a separate section on Khomeini from his books and statements. The conclusion is that he is a fanatical Shia and an intolerant Persian extremist. I also clarified that the Shia have fundamentals peculiar to them and that we have fundamentals specific to us. There is no scope to unite with them.

Chapter 3: The most extensive chapter of the book which contains the following sections:

  • The United States of America and the Iranian Revolution
  • Their conspiracies in the Gulf and Iraq.
  • What is the underlying purpose of the rapprochement between the Shia and the Nusayris?
  • Their loci in the Islamic world.
  • Internal conditions of Iran.

As such, I have gathered in my book beliefs, politics, and history. I think that the majority of contemporary writers have ignored this approach. They either write on beliefs or on history; they rarely touch on the political angle. As for our righteous predecessors—may Allah be pleased with them—when they touched on a subject, they gave it its full right from various angles. I endeavoured to list the references for everything I wrote. I examine the report thoroughly and combine it with other reports.

I know that the Shia will receive this book with vicious hostility and that they will write against it and its author. They will not leave a single word from their condescending dictionary except that they will apply it to me. And they will buy some men, who claim allegiance to the Ahlus Sunnah, to refute me. Allah knows well that I do not anticipate from them except such an attitude. How can one expect anything else from those who did not spare even the family of the Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, or Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and ‘Uthman radiya Llahu ‘anhum?

All that I hope for is Allah rewarding me for my effort on the Day when no wealth or children will be of avail. I hope that the Muslims—the Ahlus Sunnah wa al Jama’ah and all other Islamic factions—will read my book with attentiveness and open their hearts for it.

If they were to then object, saying, “It is inappropriate to raise such matters at this time.”

I would answer: What is appropriate is that which is harmonious with the Shari’ah, not that which is harmonious with one’s passions and dispositions. In fact, it is neither proper nor honourable to befriend someone who doubts the Book of Allah, rejects the Sunnah of the chosen Messenger salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and abuses the Sahabah radiya Llahu ‘anhum. Exigency compels us to reveal the dark and somber pages of history belonging to those who seek to revive the glory of Kisra and the fire of Mazda.

I hope that the youth will remain committed to clear evidence and prioritize Islamic interest, and not cling fanatically to some person’s words and opinion. I have examined the views of those who supported Khomeini and have found not a single reliable piece of evidence among them. They are merely untamed emotions, without origin or end.

As regards to Islamic unity, we—the Ahlus Sunnah—have a natural disposition of unity, avoiding disunity, and removing the causes of rancour and hatred. However, we view this unity on the strength of Islamic principles. ًWhat would please us immensely—and Allah knows it is the truth—is if the heads of the various Islamic organisations were to mediate with their friend Khomeini, urging him to renounce his writings, and the deceit, polytheism, and misguidance contained therein.

Finally, I urge those who claim that it is imperative to unify with the Shia, to immediately gather all the books the senior Shia scholars have penned in contemporary times; they will then discover them to be in the thousands and that all of them cast doubts on our fundamentals and creed. That is when they will realise—if they are objective—that uniting with them is impossible.

Nonetheless, this book has been written for the prevention of vice, for the pleasure of Allah, and to defend His Din. O Allah, accept it from me and place it in the records of my actions; indeed, You are All Hearing, the Answerer. Our final statement is: All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
