علمني صلى الله عليه و سلم ألف باب يفتح كل باب ألف باب
Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam taught me 1000 doors; each door opens another 1000 doors
This narration is munkar. Ibn ‘Adi said, “This is a munkar hadith. Probably, the problem lies with Ibn Lahi’ah who is very extreme in tashayyu’. They (the Imams) criticised him and attributed du’f to him.”[1]
Hafiz Ibn Hajar al ‘Asqalani states:
One of the lies of the Rawafid is what Kathir ibn Yahya has narrated―he is from their seniors―from Abu ‘Awanah from―al Ajlah from―Zaid ibn ‘Ali ibn al Hussain who said:
“On the day Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam passed away,” he then mentioned a lengthy incident. It appears therein, “‘Ali entered so ‘Aisha stood up. He leaned over him so he informed him of 1000 doors regarding what will transpire before the Day of Qiyamah, each of these doors opens 1000 doors.”
This is mursal or mu’dal. It has another mawsul (joint) chain by Ibn ‘Adi in Kitab al Du’afa’ i.e. the hadith of ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar with a weak sanad.[2]
When millions of doors of knowledge are opened for Sayyidina ‘Ali radiya Llahu ‘anhu as they suppose and when Sayyidina Hussain radiya Llahu ‘anhu can speak in 70 million languages, then why do they express surprise when Sayyidina Abu Hurairah radiya Llahu ‘anhu memorises few thousand ahadith?
