The author, ‘Abdul Malik ibn ‘Abdur Rahman al Shafi’i, in this treatise critically examines the efforts of Shi’i scholars, citing Ja’far al Subhani as an example, in advocating for Islamic unity and rapprochement between Shia and Sunni. He establishes that these calls for unity, though seemingly sincere, are ultimately a guise for disseminating Shi’i beliefs and converting the Ahlus Sunnah to Shi’ism. Through historical and contemporary examples, the author determines that Shi’i scholars have strategically used the pretext of unity to advance their theological agenda. He emphasizes that genuine unity can only be achieved by addressing and reforming these deviant Shi’i beliefs and practices. This scholarly work challenges the underlying motives of Shi’i calls for rapprochement, urging a critical reassessment of such initiatives within the context of Islamic unity.
