This book is a response to a number of scathing remarks which have been cast upon Sayyidina Muawiyah radiya Llahu ‘anhu — in particular by a Saudi journalist, Hassan Farhan al-Maliki. The illustrious author, Sheikh Sa’d al-Subay’i, responded to these accusations and established the false nature of the narrations quoted by the critics to disparage Sayyidina Muawiyah radiya Llahu ‘anhu. In addition he has pointed out the ambiguity of the narrations which appear to infer criticism upon Sayyidina Muawiyah radiya Llahu ‘anhu and also addressed the spurious tales that had been invented by some of the Shia regarding this Sahabi — all in an academic and unbiased manner. Lastly, he enumerates the status and virtue of Sayyidina Muawiyah radiya Llahu ‘anhu in light of the Qur’an and sound ahadith, with which he seals the door against any criticism towards this noble personality.
