Sacred Places And Grave Sites According To Khomeini

Khomeini says regarding prostrating on “Hussaini soil”:

The most virtuous is the Hussaini soil, i.e. for the place of prostration. It transcends the seven veils and raises it above the seven earths as in the hadith.[1]

The earth from the “Hussaini soil” has a specialty that no other has, not even the soil of the grave of Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Khomeini says:

No other soil is equal to it. Not even from the grave of Nabi salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam or from the graves of the Imams ‘alayh al Salam.[2]

Their sacred places and Ka’bahs are many. The fictitious tales they have spun about the virtue of these places are innumerable. We will suffice on only what Khomeini has said. Further reading salah at these sacred places and graves is part of their creed and heralds great virtue. He says:

It is alright to read salah behind the graves of the Imams, to its right or left. Though it is better to pray by the head in a manner that one is not in line with the Imam ‘alayh al Salam.[3]
