Hadith 76: Verily Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala made the progeny (continue) of every Prophet through his backbone (i.e. offspring). And verily Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala made my progeny (continue) through the backbone of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib radiya Llahu ‘anhu.

Hadith 77
أتاني جبريل عليه السلام بدرنوك من درانيك الجنة، فجلست عليه، فلما صرت بيني يدي ربي، كلمني وناجاني، فما علمني شيئ ا إلا علمه علي، فهو باب مدينة علمي. ثم دعاه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إليه، فقال له: يا علي سلمك سلمي، وحربك حربي، وأنت العلم ما بيني وبين أمتي من بعدي.
“‘Jibril ‘alayh al Salam came to me with a carpet from the carpets of Jannat. And so I sat on it. When I came before my Lord, he spoke and conversed with me. He did not teach me anything except that he (also) taught ‘Ali. He is the door for the city of my knowledge.” Then the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam called him and said, “O ‘Ali, your peace is my peace. And your war is my war. You are the knowledge between me and my Ummah after me.”
Ibn al Maghazili narrates — Abu Muhammad al Hassan ibn Ahmed ibn Musa al Ghandajani — Abu al Fath Hilal ibn Muhammad al Haffar — Ismail ibn ‘Ali ibn Razin — from his father — my brother, Di’bil ibn ‘Ali narrated to us — Shu’bah ibn al Hajjaj narrated to us — from Abu al Tayyah — from Ibn ‘Abbas who said, “The Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said…”[1]
Di’bil is da’if (weak).
Ismail ibn ‘Ali is (Ismail ibn ‘Ali) Ibn ‘Ali ibn Razin. He is accused of fabricating hadith.
The hadith is mawdu’ (fabricated).
