أعلم أمتي من بعدي علي بن أبي طالب.
The most knowledgeable of my Ummah after me is ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib.
Al Daylami narrates this hadith — from Salman al Farisi marfu’an (attributed to the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam).[1] I saw the hadith in Musnad al Firdaws without a chain of transmission.[2]
Abu Nuaim narrates this hadith—as mentioned in Kanz al ‘Ummal—from ‘Ali marfu’an (attributed to the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), “He (i.e. ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib) is the most knowledgeable of people regarding Allah and the most knowledgeable of people regarding the love and reverence of the people of La ilaha illa Allah.”[3]
I did not come across its chain of transmission.
