وَبِهِ قَالَ القَطِيْعِيُّ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ البُوْرَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: صَعَدَ النَّبِيّ حِرَاءً أَوْ أُحُدًا وَمَعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ، فَرَجَفَ الجَبَلُ، فَقَالَ: اثْبُتْ، نَبِيٌّ وَصِدِّيقٌ وَشَهِيدَان
The Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam climbed the mountain of Hirah or Uhud and with him was Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and ‘Uthman. The Mountain shook and the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “Be still, [there is but upon you] a Prophet, a Siddiq, and two martyrs.”[1]
وَبِهِ قَالَ القَطِيْعِيُّ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيْدٌ – يَعْنِي: ابْنُ أَبِي عَرُوْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَسٌ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَعَدَ أُحُدًا فَتَبِعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ، فَرَجَفَ بِهِمْ، فَقَالَ: اسْكُنْ، نَبِيٌ وَصِدِّيقٌ وَشَهِيدَان
Al Qati’i states—’Abdullah ibn Ahmed narrated to us—my father narrated to me—Yahya ibn Sa’id ibn Abi ‘Arubah narrated to us—Qatadah narrated to us—Anas narrated to him:
The Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam climbed atop Mount Uhud and was followed by Abu Bakr, ‘Umar, and then ‘Uthman. The mountain quaked and the Prophet said, “Be still! For there is but a Prophet, a Siddiq, and two martyrs upon thee.”[2]
[1] The isnad is Sahih. Al Qati’i narrates in Zawa’id Fada’il al Sahabah (869) from Muhammad ibn Ahmed al Burani. Al Bukhari narrates it in his Sahih (3697) and he identifies the mountain as Uhud.
