This is ‘Ali who has approached in al sahab

هذا علي قد أقبل في السحاب

This is ‘Ali who has approached in al sahab (lit. the clouds).

Al Albani states:

Mawdu’. Abu al Sheikh documented it in Akhlaq al Nabi^[1] from Mas’adah ibn al Yasa’ from―Jafar ibn Muhammad from―his father from―his grandfather who reports: “Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam put on a turban for ‘Ali called al sahab. ‘Ali thereafter approached wearing it, so Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: This is ‘Ali who has approached in al sahab.”

They manipulated it and asserted, “Ali is in the clouds.”

I say: Mas’adah is the problem.

Mas’adah ibn al Yasa’

• Al Bukhari quotes Ahmed, “He is worthless. We discarded his hadith a long time back.”^[2]
• Al Dhahabi comments, “Halik (destroyed). Abu Dawood declared him a liar.”
