يا عمار إذا رأيت عليا قد سلك واديا و سلك الناس واديا غيره فاسلك مع علي و دع الناس فإنه لن يدلك على ردي و لن يخرجك من الهدى
O ‘Ammar, when you see ‘Ali treading a valley and people taking another valley, then tread with ‘Ali and leave the people because he will never guide you to ruin and will never detach you from guidance.
The isnad is mawdu’. Hafiz Ibn ‘Asakir narrates it from the chain of al Mu’alla ibn ‘Abdul Rahman.[1]
Al Mu’alla ibn ‘Abdul Rahman
Al Suyuti says, “Mawdu’. Al Mu’alla is matruk and fabricates. Abu Ayub did not attend Siffin.”[2]

[2] Al La’ali al Masnu’ah vol. 1 pg. 374; Tahdhib al Tahdhib vol. 10 pg. 214.
