Shattering the Mirage: A Response to ‘Abdul Hussain Sharaf al Din’s al Muraja’at – UPDATED (24/03/2025)!
March 24, 2025The Shia fable of the Companions radiya Llahu ‘anhum heartlessly assaulting the daughter of the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam—Sayyidah Fatimah radiya Llahu ‘anha—resulting in the breaking of her rib, the miscarriage of her unborn child, and culminating in her demise is one of those fabricated stories that has become a historical certainty for some. It depicts the Companions radiya Llahu ‘anhum as wicked oppressors, who showed no regard for the Prophet’s daughter and the Ahlul Bayt, raiding their homes and assaulting their women folk.
Sa’d ibn Rashid al-Shanfā and Ḥāfiẓ Asdrem—may Allah reward them and preserve them—exerted their utmost effort to trace and examine the reports circulated about this myth. They thoroughly critiqued the chains of transmission and text for each report, highlighting their flaws and falsehood therein, proving that this myth contradicts clear and well-established facts. They conclude that this tale has no basis, whether from the perspective of the chain of transmission, the text, historical context, or the overwhelmingly fictitious nature of its details. They have excelled in defending the Companions and Household of the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam with this priceless work, may Allah reward them abundantly.
