رأيت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم التزم عليا وقبله، ويقول: بأبي الوحيد الشهيد، بأبي الوحيد الشهيد.
I saw the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam embracing ‘Ali and kissing him, and he was saying, “By my father, the only martyr; by my father, the only martyr.”
Abu Ya’la narrates — Suwaid ibn Sa’id narrated to us — Muhammad ibn ‘Abdul Rahim ibn Sharus al Halabi narrated to us — from Ibn Minaʾ — from his father — from ‘Aʾishah…”[1]
The chain of transmission is wah (feeble). In contains the following defects:
Al Albani considered his name to be Maynaʾ ibn Abi Maynaʾ al Zuhri al Khazzaz, the mawla (client) of ‘Abdul Rahman ibn ‘Awf.[2] He narrates from a number of Sahabah. He is matruk (suspected of forgery). In fact, Abu Hatim deemed him a kadhdhab (liar).[3]
