Hadith 32
سلام عليك أبا الريحانتين من الدنيا، فعن قليل يذهب ركناك، والله خليفتي عليك. فلما قبض النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال علي: هذا أحد الركنين الذي قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فلما ماتت فاطمة قال: هو الركن الآخر الذي قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم.
“May peace be upon you, Abu al Rayhanatayn of the Dunya. Soon, your two pillars will leave; Allah will take my place looking after you.” When the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam passed away, ‘Ali said, “This is one of the pillars that the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam spoke about.” When Fatimah passed away, he said, “This is the other pillar that the Prophet salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam spoke about.”
Al Qati’i and others narrate — from Muhammad ibn Yunus — Hammad ibn ‘Isa al Juhani narrated to us — Jafar ibn Muhammad narrated to us — from his father — from Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah al Ansari who said, “The Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said to ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib…”[1]
The chain of transmission is batil (false). It contains the following defects:
- Muhammad ibn Yunus is (Muhammad ibn Yunus) al Kudaymi. He is da’if (weak). In fact, he is even suspected of lying.
- Hammad ibn ‘Isa al Juhani is suspected of fabricating hadith. I have explained this in the original work.
