Hadith 180: Verily the duel of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib against ‘Amr ibn Wudd on the Day of Khandaq (i.e. the Battle of the Trench) is more virtuous than all the good deeds of my Ummah until the Day of Resurrection.

Hadith 179: I advise you to treat these two well. No one defends and protects them for my sake except that Allah will grant him a nur (light) that he will appear with before me on the Day of Resurrection. (Referring to ‘Ali and al ‘Abbas)

Hadith 181: I emigrated to the Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Once, while I was with him one day, he said to me, “O ‘Amr, should I show you a dabbah (animal) of Jannat that eats food, drinks beverages, and walks in the marketplaces?”….

Hadith 180

.لمبارزة علي بن أبي طالب لعمرو بن عبد ود يوم الخندق، أفضل من أعمال أمتي إلى يوم القيامة

Verily the duel of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib against ‘Amr ibn Wudd on the Day of Khandaq (i.e. the Battle of the Trench) is more virtuous than all the good deeds of my Ummah until the Day of Resurrection.

Al Hakim narrates this hadith — Luʾluʾ ibn ‘Abdullah al Muqtadiri narrated to us in the palace of the khalifah of Baghdad — Abu al Tayyib Ahmed ibn Ibrahim ibn ‘Abdul Wahhab al Misri narrated to us — Ahmed ibn ‘Isa al Kashshab of Tunisia narrated to us — ‘Amr ibn Abi Salamah narrated to us — Sufyan al Thawri narrated to us — from Bahz ibn Hakim — from his father — from his grandfather who said, “The Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said…”[1]

This hadith is mawdu’ (fabricated).

Ahmed ibn ‘Isa al Tunnisi al Khashshab is a kadhdhab (liar).[2]

Ibn Hajar said, “This report is fabricated.”[3]

Al Khatib narrates this hadith from Ishaq ibn Bishr al Qurashi.[4] He is al Kahili, the kadhdhab (liar). This has been mentioned previously.

I could not trace Abu Ishaq Ibrahim ibn Muhammad al Nasibi, al Hassan ibn al Hassan ibn Shaddad, and Muhammad ibn Sinan al Hanzali.
