Fabricated virtues of Abu Bakr

 

  1. Abu Bakr and ‘Umar are the finest of the inhabitants of the skies and earth

 

أبو بكر و عمر خير أهل السماوات و الأرض

Abu Bakr and ‘Umar are the finest of the inhabitants of the skies and earth.

 

This narration is mawdu’.

Jabarun ibn Waqid

  • Munkar
  • Al Dhahabi declared his ahadith mawdu’ in al Mizan.
  • Hafiz Ibn Hajar concurs with him on this point in al Lisan.

It appears from another chain in Musnad al Daylami from Yahya ibn al Sirri.

His father is majhul. On the other hand, his son is reliable.[1]

Stones proclaiming Allah’s glory in the hands of Abu Bakr.[3]

 

  1. Rasulullah’s salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam declaration concerning Sayyidina Abu Bakr, Sayyidina ‘Umar and Sayyidina ‘Uthman radiya Llahu ‘anhum:

هؤلاء أولياء الخلافة بعدي

These three are the bearers of caliphate after me.

 

Ibn al Jawzi said, “This hadith is not sahih. Muhammad ibn al Fadl is present in the isnad. He is worthless. They labelled him a kadhab.”[4]

 

  1. A Jew loved Abu Bakr, because his name appears in the Tawrah

 

حب اليهودي أبي بكر لأن أبا بكر مذكور في التوراة

A Jew loved Abu Bakr, because his name appears in the Tawrah.[5]

 

  1. Allah will manifest Himself in the Hereafter for the people in public, but for Abu Bakr in private

 

إن الله يتجلى في الآخرة للناس عامة و لأبي بكر خاصة

Allah will manifest Himself in the Hereafter for the people in public, but for Abu Bakr in private.[6]

 

  1. Sayyidina Jibril’s ‘alayh al Salam telling Rasulullah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam about Sayyidina Abu Bakr:

 

إنه وزيرك في حياتك و خليفتك بعد موتك

He is your vizier during your lifetime and will be your khalifah after your demise.[7]

 

  1. The sky dreaded when the Nabi salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam desired that ‘Ali be his khalifah

 

إن السماء ارتجت لما تمنى النبي أن يكون عليا خليفته و سمع قائلا يقول له قل قد شاء الله أن يكون الخليفة أبو بكر من بعدك

The sky dreaded when the Nabi salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam desired that ‘Ali be his khalifah and he heard someone telling him, “Say: Allah has already intended that the khalifah after you be Abu Bakr.”[8]

 

  1. The boasting of Jannat and Hell:

إن الله زين الجنة بأبي بكر و عمر

Indeed Allah beautified Jannat with Abu Bakr and ‘Umar.[9]

 

Ibn al Jawzi labelled it mawdu’.

Aban is one of the narrators who is matruk.

  • Shu’bah comments, “I rather commit adultery than narrate from him.”

 

  1. Those who harbour hatred for Abu Bakr and ‘Umar are the Jews of this ummah

 

إن مبغض أبي بكر و عمر هو يهود هذه الأمة

Those who harbour hatred for Abu Bakr and ‘Umar are the Jews of this ummah.

 

Abu Bakr al Khatib states, “This hadith is a blatant lie and fabrication.”[10]

 

  1. Certainly, there are 80 000 angels in the sky seeking forgiveness for the one who loves Abu Bakr and ‘Umar

 

إن في السماء ثمانين ألف ملك يستغفرون لمن أحب أبا بكر و عمر

Certainly, there are 80 000 angels in the sky seeking forgiveness for the one who loves Abu Bakr and ‘Umar.

 

The narration is mawdu’.[11]

Al ‘Uqayli reported it in al Du’afa from al Qasim ibn Yazid ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Qasit from―his father from―’Ata’―from Ibn ‘Abbas.

Al Dhahabi unequivocally declares it a lie. Hafiz corroborates him in al Lisan.[12]
