بخ بخ لك يا علي أصبحت مولانا و مولى كل مؤمن و مؤمنة

Congratulations to you O ‘Ali. You have become our mawla and the mawla of every believing male and female.

 

‘Ali ibn Zaid ibn Jud’an

  • Al Juzajani comments, “Wahi al hadith. Da’if.”[1]
  • Hafiz made similar comments in al Taqrib.[2]
  • Hammad ibn Zaid comments, “He would mix the asani”
  • Ibn Khuziamah remarked, “I do not use him as proof due to his weak memory.”
  • Ibn ‘Uyainah declared him da’i
  • Ibn Ma’in says, “He is worthless.”
  • Yahya al Qattan says, “His narrations should be avoided.”
  • Ahmed ibn Hambal labelled him da’i

Ibn al Jawzi in al Ilal al Mutanahiyah fi al Ahadith al Wahiyah declares, “It is not permissible to cite this hadith as proof. All the narrators after him until Abu Hurairah are da’if.”[3]

 

Shahr ibn Hawshab

  • He is mutakallam fih (criticised).
  • Al Nasa’i says, “He is not qawi (strong).”[4]
  • Al Bazzar comments, “A group of scholars have condemned him.”[5]
  • Al Daraqutni remarks, “He is not qawi (strong).”[6]

Damrah ibn Rabi’ah al Filistini

  • Guilty of little wahm (blunders).[7]

Al Albani has clarified that this narration is da’if. However, the marfu’ portion of it is sahih.[8]
