إنما مثل علي في هذه الأمة مثل قل هو الله أحد في القرآن.
Surely the example of ‘Ali in this Ummah is the example of (the surah) Qul huwa Allah Ahad (Say: He is Allah, the One and Only) in the Qurʾan.
Ibn al Maghazili narrates — from Ishaq ibn Bishr — from ‘Amr ibn Abi al Miqdam — from Simak — from al Nu’man ibn Bashir who said, “The Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said…”[1]
This hadith is mawdu’ (fabricated). It contains the narrator Ishaq ibn Bishr. It seems he is (Ishaq ibn Bishr) al Kahili. He is a kadhdhab (liar).
It also contains the narrator ‘Amr ibn Abi al Miqdam. He is da’if (weak). In fact, Ibn Hibban accused him of lying.
It also contains the narrator Simak. He is da’if (weak).
