Hadith 75: We are the children of ‘Abdul Muttalib, the leaders of the inhabitants of Jannat: Me, Hamzah, ‘Ali, Jafar, Hassan, Hussain and al Mahdi.”

Hadith 74: “Whoever lends a helping hand to someone from my Ahlul Bayt (Family of the House), I will recompense him on the Day of Resurrection.” And he said, “The right of ‘Ali over the Muslims is like the rights of a father over his child.”

Hadith 76: Verily Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala made the progeny (continue) of every Prophet through his backbone (i.e. offspring). And verily Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala made my progeny (continue) through the backbone of ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib radiya Llahu ‘anhu.

Hadith 75

نحن ولد عبد المطلب سادة أهل الجنة: أنا، وحمزة، وعلي، وجعفر، والحسن، والحسين، والمهدي.

We are the children of ‘Abdul Muttalib, the leaders of the inhabitants of Jannat: Me, Hamzah, ‘Ali, Jafar, Hassan, Hussain and al Mahdi.”

Ibn Majah narrates — Hadiyyah ibn ‘Abdul Wahhab narrated to us — Sa’d ibn ‘Abdul Hamid ibn Jafar narrated to us — from ‘Ali ibn Ziyad al Yamami — from ‘Ikrimah ibn ‘Ammar — from Ishaq ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah — from Anas ibn Malik who said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam…”[1]

‘Ali ibn Ziyad al Yamami is majhul (unknown). Al Mizzi and Ibn Hajar rectified his name; it is ‘Abdullah ibn Ziyad.[2] Al Bukhari mentions him (i.e. ‘Abdullah ibn Ziyad) and says that he is munkar al hadith (unacceptable in hadith) and laysa bi shay (worthless). Ibn Hibban mentions him in Kitab al Thiqat and al ‘Uqayli mentions his in al Du’afaʾ al Kabir.

What further proves this is the fact that al Hakim and others narrate this hadith from ‘Abdullah ibn Ziyad al Yamami — from ‘Ikrimah ibn ‘Ammar — from Ishaq ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah — from Anas ibn Malik.[3]

Al Hakim authenticated the hadith. However, al Dhahbi disagreed and said that it is fabricated.[4]

Al Khatib writes, “This hadith is entirely unacceptable. It is not established. There is more than one unknown narrator in the chain of transmission.”[5]

Al Dhahabi and al Albani ruled the hadith a fabrication.[6]

It is as they say.
