Hadith 213

The Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said to us one day, “Do you know what is inscribed on the ‘Arsh? (The following words are) inscribed: ‘La ilah illa Allah Muhammad Rasul Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, Abu Bakr al Siddiq, ‘Umar al Faruq, ‘Uthman al Shahid, ‘Ali al Rida.’

Ibn ‘Asakir narrates this hadith — from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd ibn ‘Amir — ‘Isam ibn Yusuf narrated to us — Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us that ‘Ali ibn Zaid ibn Jud’an narrated to him — from ‘Adi ibn Thabit — from al Baraʾ ibn ‘Azib…

This hadith is a lie.

Muhammad ibn ‘Abd ibn ‘Amir ibn al Samarqandi is a kadhdhab (liar) and he fabricates hadith.[1]

There is a difference of opinion regarding the status of ‘Isam ibn Yusuf.

‘Ali ibn Zaid ibn Jud’an is sayyiʾ al hifz (possesses a weak memory).
