Hadith 196
When Allah created Adam ‘alayh al Salam and Hawwaʾ, they strutted in Jannat and said, “Allah has not created a creation more beautiful than us.” While in this state, suddenly there appeared before them a figure of a girl; no one has ever seen someone more beautiful than her. She had a shining nur (light) with her that could have possibly blinded the eyes (who looked at it). On her head was a crown and in her ears were two earrings. They said, “O my Lord, what is this slave-girl?” He said, “It is the form of Fatimah bint Muhammad, the leader/master of your children.” He said, “What is this crown on her head?” He said, “This is her husband, ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib.” He said, “And what are these two earrings?” He said, “Her two sons, al Hassan and al Hussain. This was found encompassed in my knowledge two thousand years before I created you.”
Ibn al Jawzi narrates this hadith — Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abi Tahir al Bazzaz informed us — al Qadi Abu al Hussain ibn al Muhtadi informed us — Abu al Faraj al Hassan ibn Ahmed narrated to us — ‘Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Jafar ibn Shadhan narrated to us — Ahmed ibn Muhammad ibn Mihran al Hammal narrated to us — al Hassan ibn Sahib al ‘Askar narrated to me — ‘Ali ibn Muhammad narrated to me — my father, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali narrated to me — my father, ‘Ali ibn Musa al Rida narrated to me — my father, Musa ibn Jafar narrated to me — my father, Jafar ibn Muhammad narrated to me — from his father, Muhammad ibn ‘Ali — from Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah who said, “The Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said…”[1]
Regarding the narrator ‘Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Jafar al Makhrami, al Daraqutni deemed him a kadhdhab (liar).
I have not seen anyone deem al Hassan ibn Ahmed ibn ‘Ali Abu al Faraj al Himani a thiqah (reliable).
I could not trace Ahmed ibn Muhammad ibn Mihran al Hammal.
Ibn al Jawzi said this hadith is mawdu’ (fabricated).
Al Dhahabi said that this hadith is a lie.[2]
