Hadith 11: “Verily, Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala created such a creation that is neither from the children of Adam nor from the children of Iblis. They curse those who have antipathy towards ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib.”…

Hadith 10: Indeed, in Jannat (Paradise) there is a bird similar to the bakht bird. And indeed, ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib will be the first to partake of it. Its meat is tenderer than butter and sweeter than pure honey.

Hadith 11

“Verily, Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ala created such a creation that is neither from the children of Adam nor from the children of Iblis. They curse those who have antipathy towards ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib.”

They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, who are they?’

He said: “They are skylarks who call out in the early mornings on treetops: ‘Surely, the curse of Allah is upon those who have antipathy toward ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib.’”

Ibn al Maghazili narrates — Abu Nasr ibn al Tahhan informed us ijazatan (i.e. he authorized me to narrate the hadith) — from al Qadi Abu al Faraj al Khuyuti — Ahmed ibn al Hassan narrated to me — Muhammad ibn al Hassan informed us — al Miqdam ibn Dawood narrated to us — Asad ibn Musa narrated to us — Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us — from Thabit — from Anas who said: “The Messenger of Allah salla Llahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said…”[1]

Ibn al Maghazili is da’if (weak).

I could not trace Abu Nasr ibn al Tahhan, Ahmed ibn al Hassan and Muhammad ibn al Hassan.

Imam al Nasaʾi says al Miqdam ibn Dawood ibn ‘Isa ibn Talid al Ru’ayni Abu ‘Amr al Misri is not a thiqah (reliable). Other hadith critics have also criticised him.[2]

It is evident from the text that it is unacceptable. Why all of the unnecessary browbeating? The extreme (people) have mastered the art of fabricating ahadith in order to demonstrate the virtues of ‘Ali radiya Llahu ‘anhu. ‘Ali radiya Llahu ‘anhu is not in need of such lies. The authentic ahadith regarding his virtues are sufficient for anyone whom Allah desires well for, and for anyone whom He wants to safeguard from the lies and distortions of the extremists and innovators.
